Fong, a professional singer from China, gives educational workshop for students and local communities. Her workshops include an introduction to China, Chinese language, Chinese songs and Chinese painting. She gives live performances of Chinese songs and teaches painting of Peking opera face masks. Fong sings Chinese folk songs, contemporary songs and traditional Peking opera. She sings each folk song in its regional manner. Students and audience will discover the colourful variety of Chinese culture from Fongs singing and the accompanying visual material.

In the painting Peking opera mask workshop, Fong introduces the symbology behind painted Peking opera faces. Students will learn how the different colours represent the personality of the characters in the performance and will have an opportunity to paint a face mask themselves.
